Late night funnyman and comedian Ed Mcmahon died at the age of 86 at the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center after battling cancer. In recent years Ed has been plagued with many health issues including a neck injury in 2007 and pneumonia. He had been hospitalized in February 2009 with what had been described at that time as bone cancer.
Ed McMahon was the sidekick on legendary Johnny Carson for almost 30 years and became popular for his phrase “Heeeeeere’s Johnny!” He was also the host of “Star Search”, and the spokesperson for the American Family Publishers Sweepstakes.
Ed is survived by his wife Pamela and five adult children. Our thoughts and condolences go out to his friends and family.
